a busy time of year

Well , after finding 5 mins to catch my breath I can finally get around to writing a blog . Spring has sprung and the garden is looking beautiful . The tulips are are very showy and the bluebells are on their way.

We have had a very busy few weeks with a trip down to Cornwall to swap over some of the pictures in the gallery and to take part in the Blisland Institute spring exhibition . Blisland is a beautiful village on the outskirts of Bodmin Moor, it’s traditionally Cornish and has a great pub, of course, with rather fine local ale. We are already looking forward to taking part in another exhibition there in the summer .

In the meantime next weekend and the following weekend it’s Open Up studios in Sheffield and Pauline Calvert and I are taking part each day except coronation day- Saturday 29th April ,Sunday 30th ,Monday 1st May and Sunday May 7th 11-5 each day. So if you’d like to visit my studio in sunny (hopefully) Sheffield you’d be more than welcome. All details for all the artists taking part can be found by downloading the catalogue found on the website openupsheffield.co.uk.

Then, if that wasn’t exciting enough we are having a pop up exhibition at Cherry Tree which is on Union Road at Nether Edge in Sheffield. It’s easy to find - it’s a large converted Wesleyan chapel next to the old Nether Edge Hospital and the postcode is S11 9EF. It’s for one weekend only ,Saturday 13th May and Sunday 14th May 11-5pm. Taking part will be 5 local artists ,myself -Clare Hill, David Beatson, Pauline Calvert, Carmen Dajani and Marion Rout .

A little reminder also , the rather gorgeous Shepherds Hut which sits alongside our gallery is now open for the season . It’s situated in Michaelstow on the edge of Bodmin Moor and 8 miles inland from Padstow all details can be found at airbnb.co.uk .
